Dr. Mark Slater, D.C., CPED
Dr. Mark Slater, the co-founder of Elgin Chiropractic and Multi-disciplinary Care Center has been in full-time practice for over 20 years. He graduated from Western States Chiropractic College with Academic (Summa Cum Laude – highest honours) and Clinic Honours achieving a near perfect grade point average. Dr. Slater studied Kinesiology and Business Administration at Simon Fraser University prior to attending chiropractic college. While at S.F.U., Dr. Slater was the top goal scorer of the Men’s Varsity Soccer Team for 4 years. During that time, he also played for the U-23 Canadian National Soccer Team and professionally for the Vancouver 86ers Soccer Club.
As a chiropractor, Dr. Slater specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Dr. Slater utilizes a well-rounded approach to each condition, ensuring results in a time effective manner. He enjoys spending time with each patient to ensure all their needs are met. He has a keen interest in sports-related injuries and utilizes cold laser therapy and the latest soft tissue techniques to get his patients back to the activities that they love at the earliest possible moment. Dr. Slater has a very busy practice but always finds room to accommodate new patients.
Dr. Mark Slater is also a Certified Pedorthist. Combining his Pedorthic and Chiropractic knowledge puts Dr. Slater at the forefront of orthotic therapy. Dr. Slater combines state of the art computerized gait analysis and 3D laser scanning equipment to ensure that all his prescription orthotic patients receive the most appropriate, up to date orthopedic appliances.
Dr. Slater grew up in Port Coquitlam and has a keen interest in athletics and enjoys golfing, fishing, milling lumber and working on his custom charcuterie boards in his spare time. Dr. Slater lives with his wife Kelli and their two daughters in Coquitlam. Dr. Slater coached many youth soccer teams for over 20 years and assisted countless athletes in achieving post-secondary soccer scholarships. He is eager to share his clinical expertise and passion for helping others with you!

Dr. Robin Van Der Mark, D.C., CPED
Dr. Robin Van Der Mark opened Elgin Chiropractic Clinic in 1996. At that time,
chiropractic care was the only service offered at the clinic. In 2000, he was joined by
Dr. Slater and together they expanded the office to a multi-disciplinary health care
center including Registered Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese
medicine.
He completed a degree in Biochemistry at SFU in 1991 and then entered the Canadian
Chiropractic Memorial College in Toronto. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with
clinical honours in 1995 and was in the top 8% of all graduates across Canada. He has
maintained a busy practice for 3 decades now and continues to welcome new patients.
He has seen tens of thousands of patients over the last 3 decades including
recreational athletes, pro athletes (NHL, CFL), professional performers (Cirque de
Soleil), homemakers, labourers, businesspeople and students. He has also treated a
wide range of health concerns including shoulder injuries, knee and hip arthritis, plantar
fasciitis, whiplash injuries, back pain and headaches. Each treatment is individualized
to his patient’s needs. As well as spinal and joint manipulation, he utilizes laser therapy,
spinal traction decompression therapy, electrotherapy, ultrasound therapy and soft
tissue techniques to help his patients return to their normal daily work, home and sports
activities.
Dr. Robin Van Der Mark is also a certified Pedorthist. As a pedorthist and chiropractor,
he is one of very few healthcare professionals who are trained in the assessment of
lower limb anatomy and biomechanics and treatment of related injuries. He has
performed computerized gait analyses and physical foot exams on thousands of
patients. His chiropractic expertise, along with pedorthic training, allows him to provide
his patients with the most up to date custom orthotic devices.
He was raised in, and still lives in, Port Coquitlam with his wife, Fiona, and their 4
children. He enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, snowshoeing, and pickle
ball. After 5 decades of life and 4 car accidents, he has recognized how much
chiropractic care has helped him to live a healthy life and to appreciate his normal
activities. He looks forward to helping you get back to enjoying your life and your
favourite activities as well!

Dr. Han Li (Lina) Zheng, DTCM
Dr. Lina Zheng is a graduate from Beijing Capital Medical College in 1983 and started
working in this clinic in 2001. She mainly uses acupuncture, acupressure and cupping.
Her methods have had very positive effects when it comes to various pains such as
headaches, neck, shoulder, waist and joint pains, digestive system diseases,
gynecological diseases, depression and insomnia. Recently, she started acupuncture
and massage facial beauty treatments, which have good effects on improving facial
contours and removing wrinkles.

Ernie Nordquist, RMT
Ernie Nordquist graduated from WCCMT in 2005. He is a dedicated Registered
Massage Therapist who is passionate about helping clients feel and move better. He
has a focus on evidence-informed care, tailoring each treatment to meet the unique
needs and goals of every individual. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing
stress, or aiming to improve mobility and performance, he aims to create a supportive
space for healing and well-being.
Having a background in Therapeutic and relaxation massage, Ernie integrates
techniques such as deep tissue therapy, myofascial release, stretching techniques and
trigger point work to provide effective, goal-oriented treatments. Outside the clinic, he
enjoys staying active outdoors, playing football and coaching baseball and soccer.

Dana Suzukovich, RMT
Dana Suzukovich is a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and has
been practicing since September 1997. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University.
Outside of her professional life, Dana enjoys spending quality time with her family of
boys and her dog, Tilley. She leads an active lifestyle and can often be found swimming,
running, biking, hiking, or golfing. Dana is passionate about helping a diverse range of
patients stay active and pain-free. She combines hands-on treatment with patient
education, believing strongly in empowering individuals to take charge of their health
and self-care.

Faviana Logan, RMT
Faviana Logan is a 2022 graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.
Passionate about helping everyone, she takes the time to understand each patient’s
unique needs and goals, tailoring her treatments to ensure effective, personalized care.
Whether addressing chronic pain, recovering from injury, or simply promoting
relaxation, Faviana combines clinical knowledge with a compassionate approach to
support her clients’ goals and overall well-being.
When she isn’t in the office, Faviana enjoys cooking, being out in nature, spending time
with friends and staying active.

Whitney Dove, RMT
Whitney Dove graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New
Westminster in April of 2025. Before pursuing Massage Therapy, she got her Bachelors
of Arts at Providence College in the USA. She also has her Personal Trainers Certificate
from Can Fit Pro. Whitney grew up in Port Moody and has been very involved in the
community, playing hockey from a young age and now coaching a women’s U18 team
in the lower mainland.
Whitney has a passion for working with athletes as she herself was an NCAA Div. 1
hockey player for 4 years while studying at Providence College in RI. She wants to help
other athletes reach their goals, as well as work with a variety of people who are
working towards other fitness goals and living a healthy lifestyle. She wants to make an
impact on peoples lives and get them back to doing what they love and living a pain free
life.
In her free time Whitney enjoys running, hiking, working out, and spending time with
friends and family. She is excited to pursue her career in massage therapy.

Jessica Labranche, RMT
Jessica Labranche is a Registered Massage Therapist and a graduate of the West
Coast College of Massage Therapy (April 2025). She has experience treating a wide
range of conditions, including sports injuries, neurological conditions, chronic pain,
stress and rehabilitation needs.
With a client-centered approach, Jessica tailors each treatment to meet individual goals
and needs. She sees the therapist-client relationship as a partnership- working together
to help you feel and function at your best.
A former competitive dancer with a lifelong connection to movement, Jessica is
passionate about helping people return to the activities they love and perform at their
personal best. Outside the clinic, you’ll find her practicing yoga, hiking, paddle boarding,
travelling and spending time with her loved ones.
